This unit, I learned about Typography. Typography is the look of typed words. Typography is important because it shows the person looking at it the true message of the words. It also makes certain words look different from others. Each font has a personality and purpose means. The five fonts are serif, sans-serif, monospaced, script, and display. Serif fonts have little dashes on them. San-serif fonts are basically serif fonts without the dashes. Monospaced fonts are used for coding because of their equal spacing. Script fonts are used for signatures and calligraphy. Display fonts are very fancy and used to grab attention. Typeface ComparisonFor this assignment, I used the five types of fonts listed above. I also used the CRAP principles to enhance the overall visuals. I chose "Hello, I'm Joun" as the phrase for the five fonts. Word PortraitsFor this assignment, I had to choose ten fonts. For each font, I need to find word that doesn't describe it and one word that does. So there were 20 words in total. I also used the CRAP design principles for his. It was very interesting and fun.
